Love in Pride and Prejudice

In Pride and Prejudice, happiness doesn't seem to matter to anyone. All people seemed to worry about back then is getting married even to complete strangers, as long as it happens. Pride and Prejudice is supposed to be this big love story, but so far I have not seen any love. Marriage is set up or done because that's what was expected of them. Mr. & Mrs. Bennett have a weird relationship. Mrs. Bennett runs around trying to get her daughters all married off and Mr. Bennett just sits back and watches her do her work. He humors her and irritates her for his own amusement. They aren't a miserable married couple though. I think that over the years, they have come to know each other well enough to find happiness in the relationship they got themselves into, which is something I'm sure many people had to do in those days. Although today we have more freedom as to whom we marry, love is not all that matters: money still plays a role.
