Vampire Diaries

While we were talking in class I notice that there are similar names between the show, and novel, Vampire Diaries, written by L.J. Smith, and our book. The names in Vampire Diaries changes a little from the novel to the TV show. First, there is a girl named Katherine, she is a vampire and a hundred year later there is a girl name Elena, and she looks exactly like Katherine, the show says Elena is Katherine's doppelganger. And it makes me think about the Catherines and the doubling that we talked about that happens a lot in the book. Also with the doubling there are the two Salvatore brothers.

Then there is Mr. Lockwood. In the show there is a teenage boy name Tyler Lockwood. The Lockwood family has werewolve DNA and the Lockwood boy can turn during a full moon. Well, wolves and vampire don't mix and they continuously try to kill each other. Well that makes Tyler the outcast, or the outside, kind of like Mr. Lockwood, in the book, is an outside to the family of Wuthering Heights.

The show/novel is also that supernatural, gothic genre. I tried looking to the author and her biography but I couldn't find anything about if she read the book, or got the names from Wuthering Heights, the only thing I did fine was that some of her books are from nightmares she has had.
